چکیده

Cryptographic hash functions play a central role in cryptography. Hash functions were introduced in cryptology to provide message integrity and authentication. MD5, SHA1 and RIPEMD are among the most commonly used message digest algorithm. Recently proposed attacks on well known and widely used hash functions motivate a design of new stronger hash function. In this paper a new approach is presented that produces 192 bit message digest and uses a modified message expansion mechanism which generates more bit difference in each working variable to make the algorithm more secure. This hash function is collision resistant and assures a good compression and preimage resistance. Keywords-Cryptology,Hashfunction,MD5,SHA1,RIPEMD, Message Integrity and Authentication,Message expansion.

A novel secure hash algorithm for public key digital signature schemes

Hash functions are the most widespread among all cryptographic primitives, and are currently used in multiple cryptographic schemes and in security protocols. This paper presents a new Secure Hash Algorithm called (SHA-192). It uses a famous secure hash algorithm given by the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST).The basic design of SHA192 is to have the output length of 192.The ...

Cryptanalysis of the Modified Version of the Hash Function Proposed at PKC'98

In the conference PKC’98, Shin et al. proposed a dedicated hash function of the MD family. In this paper, we study the security of Shin’s hash function. We analyze the property of the Boolean functions, the message expansion, and the data dependent rotations of the hash function. We propose a method for finding the collisions of the modified Shin’s hash function and show that we can find collis...

An Improved Hash Function Based on the Tillich-Zémor Hash Function

Using the idea behind the Tillich-Zémor hash function, we propose a new hash function. Our hash function is parallelizable and its collision resistance is implied by a hardness assumption on a mathematical problem. Also, it is secure against the known attacks. It is the most secure variant of the Tillich-Zémor hash function until now.

XSA-strengthening: Strengthening MD5 and Other Iterated Hash Functions Through Variable-length External Message Expansion

In recent years, it has been demonstrated that collisions can be systematically constructed for some popular cryptographic hash algorithms, such as MD5 and SHA-1. Various ways of enhancing these hash functions via message pre-processing or external message expansion have been proposed to make them resistant to known collision attacks. Message preprocessing/expansion is a way of creating a new h...

Secure and Fast Hashing Algorithm with Multiple Security Levels

We propose a new secure and fast hashing algorithm with multiple security levels (SFHA-MSL). It is based on the generic 3C (3 compressions) construction and the 3C-X (3C XOR) hash function which is the simplest and efficient variant of the generic 3C hash function and it is the simplest modification to the Merkle-Damgard (M-D) iterated construction that one can achieve. The design principle of ...
